What is a sports card streamer?

Sports card streamers are individuals who host live video broadcasts, often on platforms like YouTube, Twitch, or specialized hobby sites, to showcase, open, and discuss sports trading cards. They may conduct live 'box breaks,' where unopened packs or boxes of cards are opened on camera and the contents are revealed to viewers, sometimes as part of a group buy-in or sale. These streamers also engage with their audience in real-time, offering insights into card values, trends, and collecting tips, making the hobby interactive and community-driven. Sports card streamers play a key role in the growing online sports card collecting scene.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a sports card streamer?

To thrive as a Sports Card Streamer, you need in-depth knowledge of sports cards, on-camera presence, and familiarity with the sports memorabilia market. Proficiency with live streaming platforms (such as Twitch or YouTube), video/audio equipment, and payment processing tools is essential. Strong communication skills, audience engagement, and quick problem-solving help build community and trust with viewers. These skills ensure successful, interactive streams that attract and retain viewers, driving both sales and community growth.

What are some common challenges faced by sports card streamers when building an online audience?

Sports Card Streamers often encounter challenges such as standing out in a crowded market, maintaining consistent viewer engagement, and managing technical aspects like streaming equipment and software. Building trust with viewers by ensuring transparency during live breaks and maintaining a reliable schedule are also crucial. Collaboration with other streamers, staying updated on card trends, and fostering a welcoming community can help overcome these hurdles and grow a loyal audience.

As we continue to scale and diversify into new live shopping verticals, we are seeking an Executive General Manager to lead our operations, growth strategy, and cross-functional teams. This role will be instrumental in driving revenue, optimizing fulfillment and live production, and positioning our company for expansion into new live commerce arenas in the future.

Why Join Us

At Cancelled Breaks, you'll lead at the intersection of culture, collectibles, and commerce—with the opportunity to directly shape our growth, operations, and future expansion into new live shopping categories. We move fast, innovate boldly, and build community through every stream, every shipment, and every customer interaction.

Compensation

  • Annual Salary: $100,000–$115,000, depending on experience and qualifications
  • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement as the company continues to expand

Location & Work Style

  • On-site leadership is essential to support live production, warehouse, and fulfillment operations.
  • Maintain an active presence on the production floor and in fulfillment areas to provide real-time leadership and decision-making.
  • Partner closely with stream management, inventory, procurement, customer service, and shipping teams to drive operational excellence.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment where priorities can shift quickly.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed to support live show schedules and business demands.
  • Lead by example with a hands-on management style and a willingness to step into operational challenges when needed.
  • Foster consistent communication across departments to ensure seamless coordination between revenue generation and fulfillment execution.

What you will do:

Lead & Develop Teams

  • Manage and mentor teams across live production, sales, marketing, customer support, warehouse, and fulfillment operations
  • Build a performance-driven culture focused on speed, accuracy, engagement, and customer trust
  • Drive hiring plans, training programs, goal setting, and KPI accountability

Oversee Daily Operations

  • Own end-to-end live commerce execution including scheduling, inventory flow, show coordination, fulfillment, packaging, and shipping logistics
  • Ensure seamless collaboration between live hosts, moderators, studio tech, and warehouse teams
  • Implement operational improvements across returns, customer communication, and fulfillment workflows

Drive Revenue & Growth

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow sales within sports card live shopping while laying the foundation for future vertical expansion
  • Monitor and improve key metrics including conversion rates, viewer retention, AOV, and live show ROI
  • Identify new business opportunities including partnerships, sponsorships, platform growth, and category diversification

Elevate Live Production & Customer Experience

  • Maintain high standards for live show quality, pacing, authenticity, and engagement
  • Ensure compliance with platform policies, selling regulations, and product verification standards
  • Champion community engagement, customer loyalty, and long-term brand trust

Lead Future Expansion

  • Guide the company’s strategic evolution into new live commerce categories beyond sports cards (collectibles, lifestyle, apparel, tech, and more)
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform new vertical launches
  • Support onboarding of new platforms, audiences, and live shopping formats
  • As Cancelled Breaks scales into new verticals and platforms, the General Manager will be responsible for building a leadership structure that supports sustainable, long-term growth
  • Identify, mentor, and develop high-potential leaders within live production, fulfillment, marketing, and customer support
  • Establish structured leadership training and development programs to prepare internal talent for expanded responsibility
  • Create succession plans for key operational roles to ensure continuity and stability during rapid growth
  • Define ownership boundaries and decision-making authority across departments to reduce bottlenecks and role overlap
  • Support the launch of new verticals by appointing and developing category-specific leaders
  • Foster a culture of accountability, promotion from within, and performance-based advancement

Cross-Department Execution & Alignment

  • Act as the unifying leader between stream operations and shipping management
  • Ensure real-time coordination between sales velocity and fulfillment capacity
  • Build structured communication between stream managers and warehouse leadership
  • Drive shared accountability for revenue growth and order accuracy
  • Oversee operational budgets, forecasting, vendor relationships, and inventory planning
  • Monitor P&L performance and drive cost‑efficient, scalable solutions that protect profitability

What We’re Looking For:
