Summary: The Sports Events Assistant Manager plays a critical role to assist the Sports Events Manager in the day-to-day operations, customer service and facility oversite. The Sports Events Assistant Manager will lead team members throughout the preparation, execution and close out of various venue sporting events. Responsibilities include team leadership, outstanding customer service, timely service, quick response to guest's needs, sports events setup, overall park cleaning and sanitation, product quality assurance, and safety duties.

Requirements

Position Responsibilities:

  • *Motivates, leads, trains, and instructs team members.
  • *Facilitate the highest standards in operational excellence and park appearance on a daily basis.
  • *Meet and exceed organizational goals through optimal utilization of personnel and resources.
  • *Ensure a consistent, quality experience for clientele. Serves as venue liaison to event hosts and/or guests; follows operational procedures to ensure venue facilities and/or resources are used appropriately, and contract rental schedule is adhered to.
  • *Maintain facilities and sports equipment appearance.
  • *Responsible for overseeing full event preparation, setup and teardown for various sporting activities including but not limited to: Basketball, Volleyball, Baseball/Softball, Soccer, Pickleball, Roller Derby
  • *Responsible for maintaining and oversees venue sports equipment including but not limited to: Basketball goals/backstops, volleyball nets and poles, pickleball nets, spectator bleachers, tables and chairs, Soccer goals, field marking and spiking/dragging equipment, bases, pitching mounds, etc. Identifies and reports deficiencies and maintenance requirements to Director in a timely efficient manner.
  • *Conducts quality control reviews of grounds maintenance and ballfield preparation, identifies and reports deficiencies to Manager.
  • *Responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the complex including but not limited to: Gymnasium, Athletic Fields, restrooms, Concessions, and common areas of the park.
  • *Responsible for overall park custodial duties - emptying trash, cleaning and restocking restrooms, sweeping, mopping, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the sports park and facilities.
  • *Oversees event crowd control and assist guests to maintain a safe and organized event; responds to customer inquiries.
  • *Responds to incidents and contacts appropriate authorities; completes incident reports to management.
  • Assist Concessions Manager as needed.
  • Performs all responsibilities of Sports Events Aide as needed.
  • Responsible for adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.
  • Every employee is required to take a solution-oriented approach in their interactions and undertakings, as well as being a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • One (1) year experience serving in a supervisory role
  • One (1) years previous experience in large scale facility preparations for various sports events preferred

License and Credentials:

  • Reliable transportation
  • Food Safety Manager Certification preferred or ability to obtain one within 30 days.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of and the ability to setup/operate various venue sports equipment including but not limited to Basketball goals/backstops, volleyball nets and poles, pickleball nets, spectator bleachers, tables and chairs, Soccer goals, field marking and spiking/dragging equipment, bases, pitching mounds, etc.
  • Knowledge of and the ability appropriately setup courts, fields, and etc. for various sports activities
  • Knowledge of and the ability to operate a cash register/point of sales system while following established cash handling protocols.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to prepare/serve food and drinks following Health Department Standards
  • Knowledge of and the ability to clean and sanitize facilities and equipment to Health Department Standards
  • Knowledge of and the ability to safely operate restaurant equipment and appliances.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with the public and team members.
  • Ability to motivate, evaluate, and provide corrective action to employees.
  • Ability to supervise and lead team members toward in various objectives simultaneously.
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team
  • Ability and flexibility in working varied shifts to accommodate adjustments needed or requested on staffing.
  • Must be able to work in indoors and outdoors, in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must have good written and verbal skills.
  • Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a "can-do" attitude
