Job description

Position: Franchise Law Attorney (Principal)
Location: Seattle, WA; Spokane, WA; Portland, OR; Washington, D.C.; New York, NY
Type: Full-Time
Experience Level: Partner (7+ years)

Direct Counsel is seeking a Franchise Law Attorney with substantial experience to join a respected law firm’s Business Practice. This partner-level role provides the opportunity to work with top franchise clients across diverse industry sectors and oversee complex franchise agreements, compliance, and disputes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent franchisors, franchisees, and manufacturers in licensing and franchise matters
  • Prepare offering documentation, including franchise disclosure documents and registrations
  • Draft franchise agreements and address franchise relationship issues
  • Advise on regulatory compliance and respond to governmental inquiries

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school and license to practice law
  • 7+ years of experience in franchise law, handling franchise agreements, offering documentation, and compliance matters
  • Established book of business required (partial or full)
  • Strong academic background with excellent analytical and writing skills
  • Client-centered approach with exceptional communication skills
  • Ability to manage responsibilities independently and as part of a diverse team

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: $200,000 - $325,000 annually (based on experience and location)
