The Lead Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise security solutions that strengthen the organization's cybersecurity posture and advance Zero Trust maturity. The Lead Security Engineer develops technical solutions to address security risks, integrates security into CI/CD pipelines, supports compliance with HHS requirements, and builds dashboards that measure security performance and Zero Trust maturity. Familiarity with CDM, infrastructure as code, and modern security platforms such as Splunk, Tenable, Tanium, and CrowdStrike is essential.

Required Experience:

  • Must hold an industry-recognized certification (CISSP, CAP, CEH, Security+).
  • At least 8 years of enterprise security architecture, security engineering, and system administration experience (required).
  • 2 to 3 years of cloud security experience (required).
  • Familiarity with CDM and DevOps concepts, including CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
  • Experience operating enterprise security tools such as EDR, SIEM, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Experience advancing Zero Trust maturity across enterprise environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain security tools, including EDR, SIEM, web application firewalls, and vulnerability scanners.
  • Provide technical solutions to address vulnerability findings and security gaps during the system development process.
  • Architect Zero Trust solutions and advance Zero Trust maturity using tools such as Splunk, Tenable, Tanium, and CrowdStrike.
  • Integrate security requirements into DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines using infrastructure as code.
  • Build dashboards that show security and Zero Trust maturity metrics.
  • Analyze design requirements and confirm that systems meet them.

The salary range for this position is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. It has been benchmarked in relation to the scope of the role, market rate, and internal equity. The salary for this role is expected to be in the $145,000 - $160,000 range. Where a candidate falls within the band can be determined based on one or more of the following: skillset, experience level, achievements, education, geographic location, security clearance, involvement in corporate tasks, and other non-discriminatory factors. In addition to the base salary, this role will include benefits as described above.  Valiant reserves the right to adjust the salary range, experience requirements, and position responsibilities at any time without prior notice.
