Overall Summary
As a service consultant you will be responsible for initiating automotive services and repairs by ascertaining vehicle performance problems and service requests; verifying warranty and service contract coverage; developing estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer records. You will serve as the communicator and liaison between the customer and technician; ensuring the customer's needs are understood by the technician and the needed and recommended service/repairs are understood by the customer.

Responsibilities
Greet customers promptly and professionally
Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and accurately document customer concerns
Write detailed repair orders based on customer concerns and technician recommendations
Clearly explain recommended maintenance and repairs
Present repair estimates and obtain customer authorization
Maintain consistent communication with customers throughout the repair process
Monitor vehicle progress and keep customers informed of changes or delays
Recommend maintenance and repairs based on manufacturer guidelines and vehicle condition
Review completed repairs with customers and explain work performed
Coordinate effectively with technicians, parts personnel, and management
Maintain accurate repair orders and follow dealership processes
Work toward department sales, gross profit, CSI, and productivity goals
Follow up with customers regarding declined services and future maintenance needs
Provide an exceptional ownership experience from check-in through delivery
Qualifications
Previous automotive Service Advisor/Service Consultant experience required
Dealership service experience strongly preferred
Strong understanding of automotive maintenance and repair
Ability to understand and explain technician recommendations
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong sales and negotiation abilities
Ability to confidently present repair recommendations and overcome objections
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to manage multiple repair orders in a fast-paced environment
Professional appearance and positive attitude
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Strong computer and automotive software skills
