Job Summary:
Kaleidoscope Innovation is seeking a hands-on Lead DevOps Engineer to architect, build, and operate their AWS cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. This role requires technical leadership and individual contribution, focusing on mentoring DevOps engineers and driving modern DevOps practices across the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Act as a hands‑on technical resource, setting the bar for DevOps engineering excellence
• Mentor and guide DevOps engineers through design reviews, automation standards, and operational best practices
• Define and enforce DevOps standards, patterns, and tooling across teams
• Partner with application, QA, and architecture teams to align DevOps strategy with business and delivery goals
• Design, implement, and operate scalable, secure, and resilient AWS infrastructure
• Own Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or AWS-native services
• Automate environment provisioning, deployments, and operational workflows
• Design and support containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS)
• Enable best practices for microservices deployment, scaling, and resilience on AWS
• Support platform capabilities such as blue/green and canary deployments
• Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and dashboards using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and CloudWatch
• Own logging and observability solutions (oTel, Splunk etc.)
• Lead root cause analysis, incident response, and continuous reliability improvements
• Participate in and help mature on‑call and operational support processes
• Enforce AWS security best practices, including IAM design, secrets management, and vulnerability scanning
• Drive AWS cost optimization through right‑sizing, automation, and cost‑management tooling
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Engineering with strong hands‑on delivery
• Proven experience leading or acting as a technical lead for DevOps or SRE teams
• Deep expertise with AWS services and cloud architecture patterns
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible)
• Extensive Experience With Docker And Kubernetes (EKS Preferred)
• Solid background building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and Git‑based workflows
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across engineering teams
Preferred:
• AWS certifications (DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect, or equivalent)
• Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD, Gitlab
• Familiarity with micro-services and advanced Kubernetes networking
• Experience operating production systems at scale with a focus on reliability and cost efficiency
