Description

The Principal Engineer I – Wireless / WiFi Operations serves as the Director's trusted technical leader and deployment authority within the Wireless WiFi Operations organization. This individual owns a technical domain end-to-end and acts as the final technical review before production deployments occur.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and approving Tier 2 engineers' MOPs, configurations, and deployment plans
  • Owning wireless infrastructure platforms such as wireless controllers, AAA/RADIUS, WAG/BNG, firewalls, ACLs, or automation platforms
  • Executing firmware upgrades, maintenance windows, configuration campaigns, and hardware replacements
  • Serving as a Tier 3 escalation resource during production incidents
  • Performing root cause analysis and working directly with vendor TAC organizations
  • Developing operational automation using Python, Ansible, CI/CD, and APIs
  • Auditing and remediating standards compliance across the network
  • Mentoring engineers and elevating overall technical capability
  • Partnering with planning, design, operations, NOC, and vendor teams
  • Communicating effectively with technical teams and executive leadership during outages and operational events
