Full-time
Description
We're seeking an experienced Pump Mechanic for our Indianapolis service center. This role is approximately 70% shop-based and focused on hands-on tear-down, rebuild, and testing of industrial pumps and rotating equipment - not general maintenance. Occasional field work includes troubleshooting, alignments, and installing or pulling equipment.
*This role is with Fischer Process Industries , a division of Tencarva Machinery Company .
About Fischer & Tencarva
Fischer Process Industries , founded in 1957, is a distributor and service provider of pumps and fluid process equipment, with locations in Loveland/Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Owensboro, KY. Fischer became part of Tencarva in 2022.
Tencarva is a distributor, engineering and design partner, and OEM-authorized repair network within the process equipment/flow control market. Our service offerings include system analysis and design, applications engineering, custom fabrication of equipment packages, automation and controls, equipment remanufacturing, and thermal hard coatings.
The Role

You will regularly work on:
  • Self-priming centrifugal pumps
  • Mag drive pumps
  • Vertical turbine pumps
  • Air-operated diaphragm pumps

*Gorman-Rupp is primary pump line
*Occasional work on other types of pumps and rotating process equipment, including gearboxes, blowers, motors, valves, mixers/agitators, etc.

Why Join Fischer/Tencarva
  • Day shift, Monday-Friday schedule; occasional evenings or weekends only for customer emergencies
  • Long-term company stability - Tencarva (founded in 1978) has never had a layoff and does not manage downturns by cutting people

  • Primarily shop-based work
  • Big-company resources with a small shop feel
  • Real opportunity to grow into increased responsibility over time

We take pride in doing quality work and standing behind our repairs/remans. While we move with urgency for our customers, we do not run a high-pressure production shop or sacrifice quality for speed. Our expectations of our mechanics are high, but realistic and sustainable.
Benefits Include:
  • Paid Time Off, including 10 holidays
  • Health Insurance, including medical, dental, vision, disability, and life
  • 401(k) with Profit Sharing

Requirements
Qualifications:
