What is speed logistics?

Speed logistics refers to the fast and efficient movement of goods and materials through the supply chain, often focusing on rapid delivery and time-sensitive shipments. Companies specializing in speed logistics use advanced tracking systems, optimized routes, and expedited shipping methods to ensure goods reach their destinations quickly. This service is crucial for industries where timely delivery is essential, such as e-commerce, pharmaceuticals, and perishable goods. Speed logistics providers may offer same-day or next-day delivery options, and often incorporate technology to streamline every step of the process.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in speed logistics?

To thrive in Speed Logistics, you need expertise in supply chain management, inventory control, and transportation logistics, often supported by a relevant degree or certification in logistics or supply chain. Familiarity with logistics management software, warehouse management systems (WMS), and advanced tracking tools is typically required. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills help professionals efficiently coordinate shipments and respond to rapidly changing demands. These skills and qualities are crucial for ensuring timely deliveries, minimizing costs, and maintaining customer satisfaction in a fast-paced logistics environment.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in speed logistics, and how can they be managed?

Professionals in speed logistics often encounter challenges such as tight delivery deadlines, unpredictable traffic or weather conditions, and the need to efficiently coordinate with multiple teams. Managing these challenges requires strong communication skills, adaptability, and proficiency with logistics technology to track shipments in real time. Building solid relationships with carriers and partners, as well as maintaining a proactive approach to problem-solving, can help ensure that deliveries meet client expectations and service standards.

Job description

About Us

The human brain is the most complex object in the universe, yet society had accepted one-size-fits all approaches to cognition. The "solutions" (think coffee, energy drinks, and even a friend's rx) were mediocre at best and frankly, made no sense to us. So, we created Thesis, the world's first customized nootropics company. If you've never heard that word before, it's just a fancy way of saying brain supplements. In five years, most will be taking nootropics on the daily and chances are, they'll be ours.

With an exceptional efficacy rate, the world has taken notice - we've raised over $14M in venture capital, garnered interest from leading neuroscientists and athletes, and established ourselves as the industry's leading brand. Now, we're looking for incredible people to help us share the gift of enhanced cognitive function with the world. If you're looking to be a part of a movement - one that involves both immense self-growth and an ambitious mission to pioneer an industry - we'd love to have you on the team.

About The Role

The Procurement & Logistics Analyst owns how Thesis products are sourced, made, and delivered. You'll manage suppliers, contract manufacturers, packaging partners, freight, 3PL performance, inventory, and landed cost-with direct accountability for margin and customer experience.

This is a hands-on role with real P&L impact. You'll reduce COGS, run demand planning and S&OP, prevent inventory issues, and build the supply chain needed to support DTC, retail, Amazon, and wholesale growth.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Own sourcing and negotiation across ingredients, manufacturing, packaging, and freight, including RFQs, pricing, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms.
  • Deliver measurable COGS savings through negotiation, alternate sourcing, packaging optimization, volume commitments, and freight consolidation.
  • Run demand planning and S&OP, translating growth forecasts into purchase orders and inventory targets.
  • Set safety stock and reorder policies to prevent stockouts and overstocks.
  • Manage 3PL performance against clear SLAs for speed, accuracy, damage rates, and cost per order.
  • Build supply chain capabilities for retail, wholesale, and Amazon, including EDI, routing guides, chargeback prevention, and inventory allocation.
  • Own inbound logistics and landed cost, including freight forwarders, customs brokers, and import documentation.
  • Partner with Quality and Regulatory on supplier qualification, COAs, lot traceability, and cGMP documentation.
  • Improve the systems, processes, and reporting used to plan, purchase, and track inventory.

We're Excited About Your:

  • 3 years in supply chain, procurement, or logistics, ideally in supplements, food and beverage, beauty, or CPG.
  • A record of negotiating supplier agreements and delivering quantified cost savings.
  • Direct experience managing 3PLs and freight partners against SLAs and cost targets.
  • Strong demand planning and inventory management skills, including forecasting, safety stock, and reorder points.
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills and comfort building practical cost and scenario models.
  • High ownership, sound judgment, and comfort operating without a large team or established playbook.
  • Clear cross-functional communication with marketing, finance, product, quality, and operations.
  • Practical fluency with AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT.

Pay Transparency:

We can't quantify everything we think you'll love about working at Thesis, from the exciting projects you'll work on, to the smart and humble team you'll get to work with, and our supportive and inclusive culture. That said, our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of our total rewards package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and equity. The base salary hiring range for this position is $60,000-80,000.

A Few of Our Perks and Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation with an exceptionally generous equity package

  • Competitive Health, dental, and vision plans (including a 100% covered premium plan for all 3!)

  • HSA, FSA and pre-tax commuter benefits for parking and transit

  • Ancillary benefits through Talkspace, One Medical, Kindbody, Teladoc, Classpass and more!

  • 401k to help you plan for the future

  • Flexible PTO because we respect the need for work/life harmony

  • $100 monthly wellness stipend for your wellbeing (e.g. massage, cryotherapy, psychedelic therapy, etc.)

  • Unlimited (yes, unlimited) Thesis nootropics

  • A strong emphasis on promoting from within and personal development

  • A dog-friendly office located in the heart of Flatiron steps from Union Square and Madison Square Park

  • Hybrid work model

Our Values:

  • Meet Your Potential: At Thesis, we create opportunities for personal and professional growth. We reward hard work, dedication, and an entrepreneurial spirit. We believe in open and honest feedback to help us continually learn and improve. In return, we are committed to providing the resources, support, and guidance for our team to achieve their ambitions and meet their potential.

  • Own Outcomes: We are driven by achieving meaningful results, both for our customers and our business. We're proactive, conscientious, and take responsibility equally in times of triumph and challenge. We also operate with a sense of urgency because we want to seize the opportunity to create a new category and bring nootropics to everyone who needs them.

  • Lead with Science and Data: We are obsessed with data to understand our impact, and always seek the truth through objective metrics that help us make informed decisions. Science and evidence underpin everything we do, from product formulation to marketing claims. We're committed to making the highest quality nootropics on the market and measuring our efficacy.

  • Create Exceptional Experiences: We are committed to creating a work environment that fosters a unique culture and deep sense of belonging. We create exceptional experiences by showing up for each other, giving each other the benefit of the doubt, and building an inclusive and warm environment-in and outside of the office. We're equally committed to showing up for our customers by delivering a thoughtful and impactful experience for anyone who tries one of our products.
