Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide speech and language therapy services to support students’ communication and learning needs.
  • Assess students’ speech, language, voice, fluency, and communication abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on student needs and educational goals.
  • Provide therapy to improve communication skills, comprehension, articulation, and social communication.
  • Support students with communication challenges that impact academic performance.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to promote student success.
  • Monitor and document student progress and maintain accurate therapy records.
  • Participate in evaluations, student meetings, and individualized education planning.
  • Provide recommendations and strategies to support communication skills in the classroom environment.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Current, valid, and unrestricted AK license/certification in good standing, as required for the position.
  • All SPED Teachers will need at least 2 years of SPED Teaching experience
  • Master's degree or equivalent in Communications Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology
  • Current Speech Pathologist (SLP) licensure in applicable state
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech Language-Hearing Association (CCC-ASHA)
  • American Heart Association BLS, for Heath Care Providers
  • 1+ years’ experience as a Speech Pathologist (SLP)
  • Additional certifications may be required.
  • Copy of current, completed Primary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.
  • Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents
