WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Television news anchoring - 5-7 years
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field or comparable television work experience
  • Technical Skills: Experience in live shooting and editing news
  • Skills: Excellent on-air camera skills, ability to work under pressure
  • Abilities: Leadership skills, capable of managing multiple priorities as well as a proactive problem-solver, lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds
  • Travel Ability: Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
  • Schedule: Work different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies and able to work weekends and holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a 24-hour news channel

Working Conditions

  • Works inside in a climate-controlled environment but may be assigned to field duties and be subjected to various weather conditions that could include extreme heat or cold conditions.

The base pay for this position generally is between $114,000.00 and $182,000.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
