Job description

Position Title: Pharmacy Technician
Work Location: Jeffersonville IN 47130
Assignment Duration: 6 Months
Work Schedule:
2nd Shift
Monday 1pm-11:30pm
Tuesday - Friday 2pm-11pm
Saturday 12pm-8:30pm
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Position Summary:
The position does not require the associate to have prior pharmacy experience. We are looking for applicants with previous roles such as picking or quality that would be able to meet the requirements to successfully obtain a Indiana pharmacy tech in training license - including having a highschool diploma or equivalent.
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician in Training to join our team at our organization. As a Pharmacy Technician in Training, you will play a crucial role in assisting our licensed pharmacists in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to our patients. You will work in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment, ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications while adhering to all relevant laws and regulations.
Background & Context:
This is an entry-level training role supporting licensed pharmacists in pharmaceutical dispensing and order fulfillment within a distribution setting. Candidates from picking or quality-focused backgrounds are valued even without prior pharmacy experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Medication Dispensing:
* Prepare and label prescription medications for dispensing.
* Measure, count, and package medications according to prescription orders.
* Replenish medication in automated cells to full capacity; opening large quantities of bottles and cases of product.
* Ensure the proper labeling and instructions for patient use on medication containers.
* Maintain an organized and clean dispensing area.
Inventory Management:
* Conduct regular stock rotation to prevent expiration of medications.
Compliance and Regulations:
* Adhere to all federal, state, and local pharmacy laws and regulations.
* Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
* Assist in record-keeping and documentation of prescription and medication-related information.

Qualification & Experience:

* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Previous pharmacy or picking experience
* Able to select and lift objects from shelves and carry to order filling line.
* Able to consistently carry 20 - 30 lbs. of merchandise short distances and 15 lbs. of merchandise on an extended basis from order filling station to conveyor.
* Must be able to walk and stand throughout the entire shift.
* Basic math, reading and writing skills required.
* The candidate should live within a reasonable driving distance of Jeffersonville, IN.
* Candidate must be willing and able to get a Pharmacy (Tech in Training License) 2 weeks from start date.
* Candidate must be comfortable with handling prescriptions and have a strong background in picking with high quality expectations.
* Candidate must be willing to get a National Pharmacy License (CPhT)
Working Conditions & Physical Demands (If Applicable):
The role requires the ability to select and lift objects from shelves, consistently carry 20-30 lbs short distances and 15 lbs on an extended basis, and walk and stand throughout the entire shift. This is an Onsite role only.
