Specimen collectors are professionals who gather biological samples, such as blood, urine, saliva, or tissue, from patients for laboratory analysis. Their work is essential for diagnosing medical conditions, monitoring treatment progress, and conducting research. Specimen collectors must follow strict protocols to ensure samples are collected, labeled, and transported properly to avoid contamination or errors. They usually work in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, or mobile collection sites, and need to have good attention to detail and interpersonal skills.
