Job description

Labcorp is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their Specimen Management team in Houston, TX.
Work Schedule: 8 am- 5 pm Monday- Friday
Job Responsibilities:
  • Act a liaison between the lab, clients, and patients.

  • Resolve internal & external customer requests via calls, instant messenger & email communications

  • Communicates with customers in respectful and professional manner.

  • Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions.

  • Provide customer education and information as needed.

  • Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies.

  • Prepare and triage specimens for analysis.

  • Accurately identify and label specimens.

  • Pack and ship specimens as necessary.

  • Prepare and store excess specimen samples.

Minimum Qualification
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualification:
  • Current or prior Labcorp experience

  • Associates degree or higher

  • 1 year or more of experience in the healthcare industry, such as a physician's office, clinic or hospital

  • 1 year or more of experience in customer service

Additional Job Standards
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal

  • Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures

  • Comfortable handling biological specimens

  • Ability to accurately identify specimens

  • Experience working in a team environment

  • Strong data entry and organizational skills

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Well-versed in applications like Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and willingness to learn new applications

  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
