Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform as a skilled craftsman in the typical duties of a maintenance mechanic.
  • Plan and perform work requiring electrical and electronic principles in the repair and maintenance of all plant equipment.
  • The maintenance technician is expected to have all the primary trade tools required to do their job. The company will provide specialized tools or expensive equipment.

DUTIES:
  • Follow all proper safety and housekeeping procedures.
  • Participate and assist in all training programs.
  • Coordinate work priorities with maintenance supervisor, engineering, production, management, and manufacturing. A cooperative working relationship with all plant personnel is needed to assist in accessing problems, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment.
  • Keep a good stock of repair parts by ongoing organization and requisitioning of needed parts and supplies.
  • Plan and perform new equipment installation and testing, move and reorganize existing equipment as needed
  • Working overtime is an essential job function
  • Comply with applicable safety training, regulations, policies & procedures

EDUCATION:
  • Higher education or training in one or more specialized trade disciplines

EXPERIENCE:
  • 5-10 years' experience in one or more specialized trade disciplines

SKILLS:
  • Specialized trade knowledge higher than that of a primary trade. Will work on equipment requiring familiarity in electrical, electronics, machine repair, machine tools, and robotics with an understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, ladder logic, computer numeric controls (CNC), programmable logic controls (PLC), and customized personal computer (PC) controls.
