Are you a skilled and compassionate SPD Tech seeking an extraordinary career opportunity at a state-of-the-art healthcare facility? Houston Physicians Hospital is currently seeking to hire a PRN Sterile Processing Tech!

Sterile Processing Tech at Houston Physicians Hospital

The Sterile Processing Tech provides professional nursing care through assessment, planning, treatment and evaluation of the patient. The SPD Tech is responsible for delivering safe, knowledgeable, compassionate, educative and individualized nursing care to patients and families.

Qualifications:

  •          High School diploma or GED required.
  •          Computer skills, required.
  •          CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred.
  •          Six months of experience, preferred.
  •          1-2 years experience as Instrument Room Technician preferred.
  •          Experience with all types of sterilizers.
  •          Knows operating room instrumentation.
  •          Organized the setting up of the operating room instrument tray.
  •          Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
  •          Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
  •          Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
  •          Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
  •          Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed.
  •          Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians.
