Job description

MW Components - Fox Valley Spring is looking to add a CNC Set-Up Operator to our Team! 

Job Summary

The Coiler sets up and operates CNC Coiling and Wire Forming machines to perform various machine functions, such as coiling springs of various types and forming wire by performing the following duties.

First Shift Hours: Monday-Friday 5:30am-2:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, job routers, sketches, and related technical data to determine setup procedures, tooling, control settings, and manufacturing sequences.
  • Prepares and forms tools needed for machine operations; Mounts, aligns, and secures tooling, attachments on machine.
  • Verifies that setup meets acceptable quality standards or other specifications.
  • Loads or develops appropriate CNC program in machine controller.
  • Monitors operation of machine and verifies conformance of parts to specifications using SPC where required.
  • Enters commands or manually adjusts machine controls to correct out-of-tolerance sequences.
  • Removes, replaces and labels containers of finished parts when specified number have been produced.
  • Performs routine machine maintenance.

Required Education, Experience and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; degree from certified technical school is preferred.
  • Must have a high mechanical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the machine and tools, including their uses.
  • Ability to repair and perform basic maintenance when needed.
  • Previous experience with basic inspection equipment including calipers or micrometers.
  • Previous machine operation experience is preferred.
