Job description

Position Title: Master Machine Operator, Nights
Position Type: Regular - Full-Time
Requisition ID: 43394
About the role.

Our Master Operator will be proficient in the operation of all equipment and processes on multiple lines. The incumbent could be assigned to any job as needed. They are also responsible for setting up, calibrating, and monitoring equipment to maintain product quality and minimize downtime. This role will require a 12 hour rotating working schedule of 6 PM to 6 AM.
Accountabilities:
  • Sets up equipment to meet requirements for product specifications.
  • Observes operation of equipment and performs necessary adjustments to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Controls line flows and blend rates as specified by product specifications.
  • Monitors product transfer points of equipment and adjusts accordingly to reduce waste.
  • Communicates any changes in product flow, equipment malfunctions or deviation from specifications to Production Supervisor.
  • Assists in development of training programs and in training of production personnel.
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and performs necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.
  • Reviews SPC test results to understand when and if to make adjustments to keep process in control.
  • Recommends measure to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve goals.
  • Completes end of shift reports with all required information at end of shift.
  • Evaluates line worker performance and communicates observations to supervisor, including areas for improvement.
  • Reports any changes in product flow, equipment malfunctions, deviations or safety hazards to Productions Supervisor or Maintenance.
  • Monitors and encourages personnel to ensure good manufacturing practice are followed.
  • Provides fellow operators with verbal/written information concerning production efficiencies and product quality.
  • Performs light maintenance of production/process equipment.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists team members in solving work-related problems.
  • Updates information on SACD Boards and Hour by Hour Boards.
  • Strictly adheres to all company and plant policies concerning safety, performing proper Lock-Out, Tag-Out procedures, using proper lifting techniques, appropriately wearing all personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, proper walking/stepping and all other safety procedures related to assigned duties.
  • Adheres to all company and plant polices related to GMP's, any work rules and procedures.
  • Performs activities of production laborers as needed.
  • Work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles.
  • Occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, high/precarious places, toxic/caustic chemicals, electrical shock, and vibration.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is essential for meeting performance expectations of the position.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus six months to one year related experience or training.
  • Proficiency in team building; excellent communication/interpersonal skills to motivate, encourage, train, direct and coach team members.
  • Must be able to enter data into a computer.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate in Basic English and interact with all levels of the organization

Compensation Package: Starting at $29.37 USD hourly + bonus eligibility + hourly pay differential for applicable shifts
