NATURE AND SCOPE:


Under the direction of the Youth Development Director, theBilingual Preschool Instructor will be primarily responsible for supporting the delivery of thepreschoolcurriculum and for the achievement of improving social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and general well-being English as a second language students.

RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):

  • Work directly with students during 3-day 3-hour weekly sessions.
  • Provide rich learning experiences for bilingual students who, our goal is to preserve and enhance their first language while introducing and developing skills in their second language.
  • Deliver preapproved preschool curriculum.
  • Develop relationships with the students and work on age-appropriate milestones, regardless of background, limited English proficiency, or level of education.
  • Model positive interaction, re-direction, and other techniques while engaging with children and encouraging them to "learn-to-play" together in a classroom environment.

REQUIRMENTS:

  • High school graduate and at least 21 years of age
  • Must have proficient written, verbal, and reading skills in both English and Spanish
  • 1+ years of experience working with children in a structured setting
  • Must be able to become certified in CPR/First Aid within 30 days of employment

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • CDA or greater
  • 3+ 1+ years of experience working with children in a structured setting
