This role is ideal for experienced craft workers ready to take the next step into leadership — while still staying hands-on with the work.

What You'll Do

As a Crew Leader, you’ll lead a small crew on active job sites, working side-by-side with your team approximately 90% of the time. You’ll plan daily tasks, ensure safety compliance, and communicate closely with the project Foreman to keep things moving efficiently and on schedule.

  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and meet quality standards
  • Give clear direction to crew members on objectives and timelines
  • Work closely with your Foreman to avoid delays and keep work on track
  • Take ownership of crew performance and results

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in heavy civil construction (e.g., concrete, excavation, utilities, mechanical work, patch work)
  • Prior experience leading or supervising a crew (formally or informally)
  • Clear, respectful communication skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
  • Ability to read and interpret basic construction plans and specs

Preferred:

  • Experience across multiple scopes: dirt work, concrete, utility piping, mechanical systems, concrete restoration
  • Task planning and material/equipment coordination experience
  • Confined space and fall protection training
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment (e.g., skid steers, compactors)

Performance Will Be Measured By:

  • Safe execution of tasks
  • Meeting or exceeding daily production targets
  • Effective crew coordination and task planning
  • Communication with crew and supervisor
  • Quality of completed work
