Job description

Space System Security Engineer
The Opportunity:
As a cyber mission specialist, you understand the value of hunt-forward operations, and you know that battles are won in the grey. At Booz Allen, you can use your cyberspace operations experience to create solutions that will be executed on a worldwide stage. We're looking for an experienced cyber mission specialist like you to apply your knowledge in space system security, defensive cyber operations tools, cyber threat intelligence, operational planning for space missions, and advanced cyber threats and impact our nation's critical space mission operations.
In this role, you'll be counted on to understand cyberspace capabilities to evaluate potential weaknesses as well as the effectiveness of mitigations for cyber security solutions. You will leverage cyberspace operations systems to aggregate threat feeds that inform briefings for senior leadership aligned to critical space mission operations and national security objectives.
This is an opportunity to use your research and analysis abilities to adequately assess and inform operators, senior leadership, and commanders on dynamic adversarial tactics, techniques, and procedures for space missions. Your role will be vital in the development of operations plans to support command and control.

You Have:
  • Experience identifying vulnerabilities, analyzing risks, and communicating security findings to technical leadership
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles
  • Knowledge of OT/ICS security concepts
  • Knowledge of federal government system security practices
  • Knowledge of how spacecraft or aircraft systems operate
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to adapt to changing technical environments and shifting mission requirements
  • Ability to lead risk-based discussions and clearly communicate risks to non-security leadership
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with spacecraft or aircraft avionics and communications systems
  • Experience conducting threat modeling and designing security controls based on identified threats
  • Knowledge of cryptographic solutions such as FIPS 140-3 validated modules, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and Hybrid cryptographic schemes
  • CISSP, Security+, CISM, OSCP, or GPEN certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
