Job description

ASRC Federal System Solutions, a subsidiary of ASRC Federal, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO. This is to support the Wing Information and Communication Support (WICS 2) Contract Software Support requirement at Schriever SFB, CO.

Responsibilities

  • Provide network Operation and Maintenance (O&M) for Air Force Space Command's Space Digital Integrated Network (SDIN)
  • Responsible to implement, audit, and maintainย consistent naming schemes for devices, circuits, etc.
  • Responsible to design, test, and implement device configurations and updates
  • Oversee maintenance of network diagrams and other documentation
  • Oversee maintenance and auditing of equipment, tool, and supply inventories
  • Compile reports, investigating anomalies, and perform other duties to maintain RMF compliance
  • Implement circuit changes, route alterations, and other critical network functions
  • Seekย out opportunities to implement automation and other technologies to improve outcomes
  • Train new staffย and support staff development
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Red SDIN, Black SDIN, and SONET networks
  • Provide troubleshooting assistanceย ofย T1's through OC-12c's on the CISCO SONET Network using CISCO Transport Controller and CISCO Transport Manager
  • Interact with customers for troubleshooting, and communicate progress to staff
  • Coordinate and respond to messages from interfacing organizations such as tech control, DISA, and network control centers
  • Participate in on-call rotation and travel occasionally as required
  • Support other contract functional areas and perform other duties as requiredย 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) and 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent
  • Requires an active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
  • Requires IAT Level 2 certification (E.g., COMPTIA Security+) immediatelyย upon government mandate
  • Cisco/Juniper knowledge/experience, JNCIS-SP or JNCIS-ENT certification strongly preferred
  • Transport network experience strongly preferred
  • Serial and optical network experience preferred
  • SolarWinds Orion, CISCO Prime Optical, and Juniper CTP View experience a plus
  • Experience with scalable network device management and automation technologies a plusย
