  • Create piping models aligned with process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Route piping systems considering safety, constructability, operations, maintenance, and accessibility.
  • Select pipe materials, valve types, fittings, and specialty items based on project specifications and industry standards.
  • Produce and finalize deliverables such as equipment layouts, line lists, tie-in details, and bill of materials.

Project Execution

  • Work closely with mechanical, process, structural, electrical, and instrumentation teams to coordinate designs.
  • Assist in field verification, site walks, laser scans, and as-built documentation.
  • Support construction teams with design clarifications, RFIs, and redline updates.

  • Work with Navisworks for clash detection, model reviews, and coordination with multi-discipline teams.
  • Organize drawings and deliverables in alignment with project document control requirements.

Qualifications

Required

  • 4-12years of piping design experience in industrial facilities (manufacturing, chemical, oil & gas, food & beverage, or related).
  • Associate degree or technical certification in drafting/design preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Demonstrated experience developing construction-ready piping design packages.
  • Strong understanding of piping design principles, industrial equipment, and process systems.
  • Proficiency in industry design software (AutoCAD, CADWorx, Plant 3D, E3D, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards: ASME B31.3 / B31.1, API, NFPA, and sanitary design standards where applicable.

Preferred

  • Experience in brownfield/retrofit conditions and navigating congested environments.
