Primary Purpose:

The College of Dental Medicine at Nova Southeastern University is seeking adjunct faculty to assist with the clinical and didactic training of dental students under the direction of the Department Chair of the Department of Maxillofacial Medicine.

Job Category: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range: 

Pay Basis:  Hourly

Subject to Grant Funding? No  

Essential Job Functions: 

1. Prepare and deliver instruction to Dental students.
2. Facilitate activities in the classroom, simulation laboratory, clinic, and/or other setting(s).
3. Act as a liaison between the students and the faculty course director.
4. Provide and facilitate examinations. May include assigning grades consistent with course requirements.
5. Teaches or facilitates classes based on varied schedules to accommodate diverse student needs and to meet the expectations of the College as assigned by the designated faculty course director.
6. Follows the course curriculum as assigned.
7. Prepares assignments.
8. Evaluates student performance and learning.
9. Maintains an active classroom environment conducive to student learning and success.
10. Assess clinical education needs and patient and client teaching needs using a variety of methods.
11. Demonstrates patient care in clinical units.
12. Required to complete NSU mandatory trainings. For example, HIPAA compliance, technology training, Canvas training, etc.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

Required Certifications/Licensures: Board eligibility or certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, and/or Oral Medicine

Required Education: DDS/DMD or foreign equivalent dentistry degree

Major (if required: 

Required Experience: Clinical teaching experience from a CODA-accredited dental school

Preferred Qualifications:
