Records Technician (Part-Time, On-Site - South Dallas, TX)
The Hire Solution has partnered with a City Government organization is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Records Technician to support daily records management operations and provide administrative assistance on a part time basis, Monday - Friday 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
This role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, processing information requests, supporting court-related documentation, and ensuring compliance with applicable records retention and public information regulations.
The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and capable of handling sensitive information with professionalism and accuracy in a fast-paced public sector environment.
Key Responsibilities
Records Management & Data Processing

  • Maintain, review, and process departmental records and reports
  • Enter, validate, and update information within internal systems and databases
  • Attach supporting documentation and ensure records are filed accurately and timely
  • Prepare, process, and maintain reports and departmental documentation
Customer Service & Public Support
  • Respond to public inquiries and assist customers with records-related requests
  • Process open records requests in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures
  • Provide information and support to internal departments and staff
  • Recommend appropriate courses of action regarding citizen requests and inquiries
Administrative & Operational Support
  • Assist with maintaining records and documentation systems
  • Support administrative and operational processes as needed
  • Ensure compliance with records retention policies and public information requirements
  • Perform additional administrative duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior administrative, records management, customer service, or clerical experience preferred
  • Valid Texas Driver's License required
  • Ability to obtain required state and departmental certifications within six (6) months of hire
  • Notary Public Certification preferred or ability to obtain
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of records retention procedures and public information regulations preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong data entry and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public, coworkers, and city officials
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately
Schedule & Work Environment
  • Part-time, on-site position
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • Approximately 20 hours per week
  • Work is performed in a professional office environment
  • Position may occasionally require evening or weekend availability
