Position Summary

We are seeking a Director of Sourcing to lead and scale our global sourcing and manufacturing strategy across international partners, with a primary focus on Asia while further developing domestic manufacturing partnerships.

This role is responsible for end-to-end procurement, including supplier strategy, manufacturing sourcing, quality assurance, logistics and shipping, risk mitigation, redundancy planning, and commercial negotiations.

This position oversees a sourcing and procurement team currently based in China and plays a key role in balancing cost, quality, speed, and supply chain resilience across a diverse portfolio of manufactured building products.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in building materials and finishes, a solid understanding of Asian manufacturing environments, and the ability to operate effectively within complex global supply chains.

Key Responsibilities

Global Procurement & Sourcing Strategy

  • Own and execute a global procurement strategy for cabinets, countertops, flooring, tile, and sinks
  • Maintain and expand a diversified supplier base across Asia and U.S.-based manufacturers
  • Drive sourcing strategies that balance cost optimization, quality, capacity, and risk

Manufacturing & Supplier Management

  • Identify, qualify, onboard, and manage overseas and domestic manufacturers and vendors
  • Lead factory audits, capability assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Establish and enforce supplier scorecards covering quality, delivery, cost, and compliance

Quality & Compliance

  • Oversee global quality standards, inspection programs, and corrective action processes
  • Ensure compliance with company specifications, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing standards
  • Partner with internal and external QA/QC teams to reduce defects, claims, and rework

Logistics, Shipping & Risk Management

  • Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize shipping modes, lead times, and landed cost
  • Develop redundancy and contingency plans to mitigate geopolitical, operational, and supply disruptions
  • Proactively assess and manage supplier, country, and logistics risk

Negotiations & Commercial Leadership

  • Lead supplier negotiations, including pricing, MOQs, tooling, capacity commitments, and payment terms
  • Structure contracts that protect quality, supply continuity, and long-term partnership value
  • Drive ongoing cost improvements while maintaining product integrity

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams including product, operations, quality, and finance
  • Lead and support a global procurement and sourcing team
  • Provide reporting on sourcing performance, risk exposure, and opportunities

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in global procurement, sourcing, or supply chain
  • Proven experience in manufactured building products (cabinets, countertops, flooring, tile, and/or stone preferred)
  • Hands-on sourcing experience in Asian manufacturing regions (e.g., China, Vietnam, Korea, Cambodia, Thailand)
  • Strong background in factory sourcing, quality systems, and international logistics
  • Proven negotiation experience with supplier agreements
  • Experience managing supply chain risk, redundancy, and continuity planning
  • Ability to travel internationally (approximately 2 weeks per quarter)
  • Strong professional references

Work Authorization

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
Location: Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience working directly with overseas factories and on-site teams
  • Familiarity with U.S. commercial construction supply chains
  • Experience with domestic manufacturing partnerships
  • Knowledge of building materials, finishes, and installation requirements
  • Strong financial acumen, including landed cost modeling
  • High integrity, cultural intelligence, and a relationship-driven leadership style
