Job Summary:
Computer Futures is a leading IT recruitment consultancy, specialising in placing IT experts in permanent and contract roles across Asia, Europe and the US. They are seeking an Applications Engineer to implement and administer engineering tools to enhance efficiency and meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
• The main purpose of the Engineering Systems Support function is the implementation, configuration, training, coordination and administration of more intelligent engineering tools, such as the “Enterprise” PDM (EPDM) and Bentley Substation tools, to respond to customer requirements and to cost-effectively increase efficiency through the use of more sophisticated engineering software tools.
• This individuals shall also use sound engineering judgment to perform low to medium complex professional assignments requiring application of standard engineering principles and practices.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience with PDM system implementation and administration
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD software package administration including upgrading licensing, interfacing with software vendors, developing hardware architecture, and troubleshooting issues (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MicroStation)
• Experience with managing database based engineering software tools
• This position requires the ability to clearly communicate with supplier personnel, both domestically and internationally, in order to successfully collaborate, coordinate, and resolve software implementation related activities and issues.
• Basic conversation skills and normal tact and courtesy are required.
• Travel is required, possibly for periods up to two (2) months at Customer or other locations.
Preferred:
• Experience with Enterprise PDM
• Experience with Bentley Substation SS7
