Job description

G2 Consulting Group is looking for a full-time Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our growing team in Chicagoland, IL. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a variety of geotechnical projects while supporting the growth of our Chicagoland office. The Project Engineer will be responsible for geotechnical analysis, field inspections, and managing client relationships to ensure project success.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Perform geotechnical analysis and develop constructible solutions using sound engineering practices.
  • Conduct field inspections, including on-site coordination of geotechnical drilling activities and construction monitoring.
  • Prepare engineering reports, calculations, and recommendations based on field and laboratory data.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with existing clients, ensuring high-quality service and project execution.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of reports and project milestones.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with coursework emphasis in geo-sciences or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required, P.E. preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret geotechnical data.
