Job description

Job Summary Hours: 8a.m. - 11a.m. Join the Lake Havasu Senior Center team as an Annex Donations Processor and help support programs that benefit local older adults

Volunteers in this role assist with receiving, sorting, and organizing donated items to ensure they are safe, clean, and ready for distribution or resale. By keeping the donations area orderly and processing items efficiently, you help the Senior Center maintain high-quality services for the community. This behind-the-scenes role is perfect for someone who enjoys organizing, working with their hands, and making a meaningful impact.

Essential Job Functions Receive incoming donations and ensure items are handled safely and respectfully Sort donated goods into appropriate categories (clothing, household items, books, etc.) Inspect items for quality, cleanliness, and usability Prepare accepted items for distribution, storage, or resale Organize and maintain a clean, orderly donations processing area Assist with pricing or tagging items when needed Dispose of unusable items according to program guidelines Provide courteous assistance to donors dropping off items Work cooperatively with staff and volunteers to support smooth daily operations Follow all safety procedures, organizational policies, and confidentiality guidelines Special Job Requirements Must complete all County required training courses Provide acceptable driving history at no cost to the County. Must possess a valid driver's license for operation of motor vehicles on Arizona roads at the start of volunteering and maintain said license while volunteering in this position. Additional Requirement: Must pass a background check May be required to pass a drug screening test Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Basic sorting, organizing, and inventory practices Follow established donation handling procedures and safety guidelines Operate basic office and processing equipment (computers, labelers, scales, carts, etc.) as needed Identify items that are clean, safe, and suitable for reuse or resale Understand and apply program policies, rules, and instructions Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information or donor interactions Communicate clearly and respectfully with donors, staff, and volunteers Work cooperatively in a team environment and contribute to a positive workspace Stay organized, multitask, and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting Use good judgment when sorting donations, discarding unusable items, or asking for guidance Working Conditions / Physical Requirements Work may be performed off-site at schools, health fairs, and community events

Work may involve sitting at a desk or table using a Computer Display Monitor and keyboard. Must be able to perform the physical requirements of this classification with or without reasonable accommodation.
