Crown Industrial Services is growing and investing in new assets, creating exciting opportunities for career advancement. We are seeking a Sorter/Operator to join our on-site team in Jackson, MI. This is a seasonal temporary position. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring accurate order fulfillment and inventory control within a fast-paced environment.

As a Shorter/Operator, you will be responsible for:

  • Sorting & Organizing: Sort incoming and outgoing products using scanners and manual techniques to ensure correct placement.
  • Inventory Management: Scan and record item details to maintain accurate inventory counts and updated stock levels.
  • Quality Control: Inspect products for defects or damages during sorting to meet quality standards.
  • Labeling: Apply proper labels to products and packages for easy tracking and retrieval.
  • Packing & Shipping: Prepare items for shipment by packing, labeling, and weighing packages according to company standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with team members to improve processes and ensure smooth operations.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Previous experience in packing, shipping, or receiving preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs and perform standing/walking tasks.
