Summary

Drive innovation, profitability, and operational excellence across a dynamic food production network. As a Product Quality Coordinator, you will play a critical role in inspecting, sorting, and handling products to ensure they meet company and customer quality standards while following strict food safety, sanitation, and labeling requirements. You will partner closely with production, quality assurance, shipping, and receiving teams to manage customer returns, identify product issues, maintain accurate documentation, and help ensure smooth and efficient daily operations. Working in a hands-on environment, you will contribute directly to product integrity and operational success by maintaining attention to detail, following established procedures, and supporting compliance with Perdue and USDA standards. This role is ideal for a dependable, quality focused individual who thrives in a team-oriented setting, enjoys active work, and takes pride in delivering safe, high-quality products.

This position has a base rate of $21.07 per hour, with opportunities for pay premiums, shift differentials and overtime where applicable. Annual bonus available (variable depending on performance).
In addition to hourly wages, Perdue offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, critical illness, accident insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, optional group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts and paid time off.

Schedule: Thursday through Saturday, 7:00pm-7:00am

Principal Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and inspecting the Sortation room according to SOP such that room passes start of shift inspection (see SOP on Cleaning and SSOP for Pre-opt and Operational).
  • Perform sortation duties following SOPs and GMPs - white lab coats, gloves, labeling, etc. avoiding any cross-contamination.
  • Perform sortation operations on all forms of product requiring inspection and sorting in accordance with Perdue product specs: Customer returns, damages from all areas, aged product, unlabeled product, product defects, etc. Completing necessary forms and documenting process.
  • Perform cash sales and donation according to SOPs, communicate issues to the QA Lead (Manager) and turn in paperwork to accounting and shipping as required.
  • Ensure product labeling complies with all Perdue/USDA requirements on all products to include returns to Perdue plants is completed and communicated.
  • Check for status of Customer Returns daily, communicate with Receiving if product has not been received first; follows the SOP for product Returns on Mondays and/or QA tech for shipping/receiving is on vacation or not available.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 6 months' related experience.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Factors

  • Operates equipment and performs duties in a safe manner using lifting techniques, goggles when applying chemicals, labeling of chemicals, etc.
  • Must be able to lift on average 90 lbs. totes/cases.
