Job description

Dock Sortation Specialist
Operations • On-Site (Saltbox Location)
Who We Are
Saltbox is on a mission to simplify the hardest parts of running an eCommerce business. Our purpose-built spaces serve as modern headquarters for small to medium-sized businesses in industries like Fashion & Apparel, Health & Beauty, Electronics, and Household Goods. We offer a powerful combination of flexible warehouse suites, offices, and on-site logistics support that empower entrepreneurs to scale with confidence.
What You'll Do
We're launching something new at Saltbox-and we need the right people to run it.
As a Dock Sortation Specialist, you're the execution engine of our new Dock Sorting function. You're on the floor every shift-scanning packages, sorting them accurately, staging them for drivers, and making sure every package gets where it needs to go, on time. This is a fast-paced, physical, detail-oriented role where accuracy and reliability aren't just nice to have-they're everything.
You'll work alongside a small, tight-knit crew processing hundreds of packages per shift using handheld scanning technology. When the day is done, you may also pitch in to support other parts of the Saltbox operation-from member logistics to building upkeep-as part of our Elastic Workforce (e-Force). You'll report to the Dock Sortation Lead at your location, with support from the Saltbox Operational Excellence team.
Responsibilities
Package Scanning & Sortation
  • Scan every inbound package using the Sort App on a handheld device-each package gets two scans: presort and bin assignment.
  • Maintain a target scan rate of 225 scans per hour (approximately 112 packages processed per hour).
  • Sort packages into the correct shelving unit or bin based on batch and market assignment. Accuracy is critical-missorts delay drivers and risk SLA breaches.

Staging & Dispatch
  • Move sorted batches to the driver handoff zone before the dispatch window opens.
  • Assist with dispatch scanning as drivers pick up their loads.
  • Help ensure 99.5% of packages are dispatched by 11:00am.

Driver Handoff & End-of-Shift Reconciliation
  • Assist the Lead with driver coordination-staging packages for pickup, completing departure scans, and keeping the handoff zone organized.
  • Help count on-hand packages at shift end and immediately flag any discrepancies to the Lead.

Workspace Stewardship
  • Keep the sortation area clean, organized, and safe throughout your shift.
  • Return equipment to proper positions and maintain the Saltbox standard for Members and partners.

Who You Are
You're reliable, detail-oriented, and take real pride in doing physical work well. You don't need to be managed closely-you show up, you execute, and you hold yourself to a high standard. You'll thrive here if you move with purpose, pay attention to the small details that matter, and bring a consistent, team-first attitude every shift.
Key Qualities
  • Dependable-your team can count on you being there, every shift.
  • Focused and purposeful in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Detail-oriented-right package, right bin, right scan, every time.
  • Comfortable with technology and quick to learn new tools and apps.
  • Works well on a team without needing constant direction.
  • Takes physical work seriously and can stay on your feet for a full shift.

Requirements
  • Ability to stand for 6+ hours and lift/move packages up to 50 lbs (reasonable accommodation provided).
  • Available for early morning shifts (typically 5:00am-11:00am) on a rotating 7-day schedule with two consecutive days off. Shifts as early as 2:00am may be available as operations grow, with advance notice.
  • Reliable transportation to your Saltbox location.
  • Comfortable using handheld scanning devices and mobile apps.
  • Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, fulfillment, or retail is a plus-but if you've got hustle, we'll train you on everything else.

What We Offer
We care deeply about our team and are proud to offer:
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (100% covered for some plans, low premium for PPO)
  • 401K plan with options
  • Company-paid long and short-term disability insurance and life insurance
  • Paid holidays, vacation time, sick leave, and paid parental leave
  • Learning and development opportunities, including job training and a dedicated learning budget

Location & Schedule
This role is on-site at the Duarte Saltbox location. Shifts are early morning (typically 5:00am-11:00am) on a rotating 7-day schedule, with two consecutive days off per week. As operations scale, shifts as early as 2:00am may be available. Only New Year's Day and Christmas Day are closed.
Are you ready to join a team that values your skills and experience? Saltbox is excited to offer this full-time position with a base pay range of $20.00-$21.00 per hour, depending on your location. We understand that the cost of living varies across different geographic markets, and we want to ensure that our compensation reflects that.
If you're looking for a role where showing up well and doing the work with care truly matters, we want to hear from you. Apply today and become a part of the Saltbox team!
