Schedule: Part -Time 16 Hours/Week | 3:30 pm- 12:00 am | Every Other Weekend Rotation
Shift Premiums: 2:30 pm - 10:30 pm $1.00 | Weekend (Fri 10:31 pm - Sun 11:00 pm) $1.00
Department: EVS Department | Chelsea Retirement Community | Chelsea, MI
What You'll Do: 
As a Launderer, you’ll play an important role in helping keep our community clean, comfortable, and well-stocked for residents each day. In this role, you’ll support daily laundry operations by sorting, washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and clothing to ensure residents and team members have the supplies they need. You’ll operate laundry equipment safely, follow proper cleaning and infection control procedures, and inspect items for quality to ensure they are clean, fresh, and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Laundry Operations – Sort, wash, dry, fold, hang, and organize resident clothing, linens, and other laundry items.
  •  Operate Equipment Safely – Use washers, dryers, steamers, and other laundry equipment according to established procedures.
  •  Maintain Quality Standards – Inspect clothing and linens for stains, damage, or quality concerns before and after washing.
  •  Follow Infection Control Procedures – Properly handle soiled or contaminated laundry in accordance with safety and sanitation guidelines.
  •  Keep Supplies Stocked – Maintain an adequate supply of clean linens and notify leadership when laundry supplies need to be reordered.
  •  Maintain a Clean Work Area – Keep the laundry area, equipment, filters, vents, and surfaces clean and organized.
  •  Provide Friendly Service – Respond to resident, guest, and team member requests with professionalism and care.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Position requires the ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.
  • Previous experience in laundry at a long-term care facility or medical facility is preferred.
