NOVO's wide range of service programs offer a variety of options to provide a seamless, single source distribution system. NOVO's regional healthcare linen facilities are HLAC accredited and operate with state-of-the-art processing equipment and processes.
We are currently looking for a Soiled Sorter at our Skokie facility. We are looking for someone confident in decision-making, who can act quickly, and has excellent communication skills. If you are ready to commit to measurable performance and continuous improvement, we want to hear from you!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • The attendants on the belt perform the following tasks:
    • One attendant sorts large pieces consisting of bath blankets, flat sheets, draw sheets, and thermals.
    • The second and third attendant sorts the second largest pieces - underpants, patient gowns, and fitted sheets.
    • The fourth and fifth attendant will handle all the rest of the pieces, such as bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, and scrubs.
  • Adhere to quality standards in terms of soil sorting and cart cleaning.
  • Understand, observe, and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
  • Assist and perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
  • Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from the machine for long periods.
  • Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred:
  • High School Education, GED, and formal education/training
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in the health care, manufacturing or similarly situated industries.

Physical Requirements:
  • Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting 50 lbs. or more, and stooping.
  • Physical Requirements consist of being able to meet the physical demands for the entire 10 hour shift.
