Job Goal: The incumbent performs general administrative support functions on an "as needed basis" upon the absence of the regular school or department secretary.
Job Qualifications:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must be available to work as needed on short notice.
  3. Knowledge of general office management, procedures and business machine operation.
  4. Outstanding customer service, multi-tasking, time management, organization, and interpersonal communication skills.
  5. Exceptional ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and interact professionally with others.
  6. Proficiency in data entry, filing, and document processing; familiarity with MS Office Suite of Applications and/or school or department automated systems.
  7. Work well independently and in a team environment.
  8. Demonstrated ability to take initiative, use good judgment, follow through on assigned tasks, and maintain confidentiality.
Essential Functions:
  1. Perform secretarial duties such as answering the phone, directing calls or taking messages and responding to email inquiries.
  2. Greet and assist public, staff and students.
  3. Maintain an organized office and protect sensitive and confidential information.
  4. Prepare and distribute written or typed correspondence.
  5. Access, retrieve and file documents according to established systems.
  6. Sort and distribute mail; prepare and distribute mass communications.
  7. Prepare outgoing mail and accept deliveries.
  8. Perform data entry assignments.
