What We Look For In a ARDMS - Sonography Principals and Instruments (SPI) Tutor
- Advanced Test Mastery: Deep knowledge of ARDMS SPI examination content covering ultrasound physics, instrumentation, Doppler principles, hemodynamics, quality assurance, patient safety, and bioeffects. Ability to explain piezoelectric effect, pulse-echo imaging, Doppler shift calculations, and transducer technology while preparing sonography students for the prerequisite SPI examination required for all ARDMS credentials.
- Strategic Test-Taking & Problem-Solving: Skilled at teaching ultrasound physics principles, Doppler calculation techniques, and instrumentation knowledge for ARDMS SPI examination. Guides students through calculating spatial pulse length, applying Doppler equations, evaluating image resolution factors, and understanding quality assurance procedures. Emphasizes connecting physics concepts to practical instrument operation and image quality optimization in clinical sonography.
- Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with ARDMS SPI content and common challenges such as understanding complex physics concepts, performing Doppler calculations, and distinguishing artifact types. Adapts instruction using physics review materials, calculation practice sets, and ARDMS practice examinations to support diagnostic medical sonography students preparing for the SPI prerequisite examination.
- Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
- Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
