Job description

Position: Ultrasound Vascular Technologist – Atlanta VAMC

Location: 1670 Clairmont Rd. Decatur, GA 30033

Expected Start Date: 30 to 60 days

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. In this role, you will operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images while delivering exceptional, patient-centered care to our veteran population.

Expected Schedule:

  • Tuesday and Thursday 7:30a- 4:00p (16 hours per week)
  • Compensation from $45.00 to $48.00 per hour

Requirements:

  • Resume
  • ARDMS (BR)
  • BLS (Must be through American Heart Association)
  • 12 Months experience in the preceding 48 Months

Ultrasound Technologist — Breast Imaging

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations, with a specialized focus on breast imaging, in accordance with established clinical protocols and department standards.
  • Perform breast ultrasound examinations, including targeted and diagnostic studies, while ensuring accurate image acquisition and appropriate documentation.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure proper image quality for interpretation by radiologists.
  • Obtain and document relevant patient history and clinical information to support accurate diagnostic evaluation.
  • Provide compassionate, professional patient care while explaining procedures, answering questions, and maintaining patient privacy and dignity.
  • Accurately document examination findings, patient information, and imaging procedures in accordance with facility requirements.
  • Recognize and appropriately document abnormal or concerning imaging findings and communicate pertinent information to the appropriate healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support timely and effective patient care.
  • Follow infection-control, radiation-safety, patient-safety, HIPAA, and VA Medical Center policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment and perform routine quality-control procedures on ultrasound equipment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in breast ultrasound imaging and maintain professional standards consistent with ARDMS certification and breast-imaging specialization.
  • Provide services in a professional healthcare environment through Solvet Services at the VA Medical Center in Decatur, Georgia.
