Grace Baptist Church of Papillion is seeking a man who will joyfully shepherd and lead our church in fulfilling its mission by faithfully preaching and teaching Godโ€™s Word. The ideal candidate will embrace our vision to be a welcoming church family rooted in Scripture and shaped by Godโ€™s grace, growing as disciples who love deeply, serve faithfully, and courageously share the hope of Christ.

We are seeking a pastor who is:
  • A man of prayer and personal holiness, humble, relational, approachable, and compassionate
  • A shepherd who loves people and desires to know the flock personally
  • A leader who equips others for ministry while sharing church oversight within a team of elders, not a solo performer
  • A preacher who brings clarity, conviction, and warmth to expositional teaching
  • A visionary who can joyfully lead us in living out our calling to discipleship, worship, evangelism, and community life
Relational & Ministry Strengths
  • Expositional preaching that engages both heart and mind
  • Pastoral care, which includes visiting, counseling, and praying with individuals and families
  • Leadership development to recruit, equip and mentor elders, deacons, and teachers
  • Evangelistic encouragement to help people confidently share their faith
  • Community-building that fosters a warm, welcoming church family of mature believers
  • Team-based ministry through collaboration with staff, lay leaders, and volunteers
Primary Responsibilities Preaching & Teaching
  • Preach expositional, Christ-centered sermons weekly
  • Oversee the doctrinal integrity of all church teaching
  • Provide instruction through classes, studies, or training as needed
  • Support discipleship efforts involving Sunday School, AWANA, youth, and adult ministries
  • Provide spiritual care to members through visitation, counseling, and prayer
  • Lead by example in personal godliness, humility, and love
  • Administers the ordinances of the Lordโ€™s Supper and Baptism, conducts weddings, funerals, and other pastoral duties
  • Encourage and participate in a culture of hospitality, genuine relationships, and church unity
Leadership & Vision
  • Guide the church in living out its mission and vision (We Do Everything in Christ)
  • Foster maturity through mentoring and collaboration with elders, deacons, and ministry leaders in planning and decision-making
  • Support pathways for future discipleship, leadership development, and volunteer engagement
  • Promote faithful stewardship of church resources
  • Equip members to share their testimony and the Gospel clearly
  • Encourage participation in local and global mission efforts
  • Support existing mission partnerships (Dominican Republic, Africa, South America)
  • Foster outreach events and community engagement opportunities
Administration & Staff Oversight
  • Provide leadership and guidance to church staff (Childrenโ€™s Ministries, Office, WEE School, etc.)
  • Work with committees and ministry teams as needed
  • Ensure clear communication throughout the church family
Qualifications Required:
  • Clear testimony of faith in Christ and a life marked by spiritual maturity
  • Exhibits the biblical qualifications of an elder
  • Agreement with the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith
  • Experience and formal training in pastoral ministry
Preferred:
  • Master of Divinity (or equivalent theological training)
  • Experience in multi-generational ministry
  • Skill in mentoring, discipleship, and leadership development
  • Ability to work effectively with volunteers and staff
