Job Summary:
Travoom is focusing on developing OleOle, a social network and messaging app for football, emphasizing in-match gambling driven by live score updates. They are seeking a Senior Blockchain Engineer to build decentralized applications and integrate cryptocurrency payment systems for their platform.
Responsibilities:
• Proficiency in building decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts on blockchain platforms like Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, or Solana.
• Deep understanding of cryptocurrency protocols, blockchain consensus mechanisms, and token economics.
• Expertise in languages commonly used in blockchain development such as Solidity, Rust, JavaScript (Node.js), Python, or Go.
• Extensive experience designing, deploying, and auditing secure and efficient smart contracts.
• The engineer should be familiar with Solidity for Ethereum or other smart contract languages for different blockchains.
• Understanding of smart contract auditing tools to ensure code security (e.g., tools like Mythril, Slither).
• Experience with integrating cryptocurrency wallets (MetaMask, Trust Wallet, etc.) and managing crypto payments securely on a platform.
• Familiarity with working on wallet development, multi-sig wallets, and secure transaction management.
• In-depth knowledge of cryptographic principles (hash functions, public-key cryptography, etc.) to ensure secure transactions.
• Familiarity with blockchain security best practices, including protection against attacks (51% attacks, replay attacks, double-spending, etc.).
• Knowledge of Layer 2 scaling solutions (e.g., Optimistic Rollups, zk-Rollups, sidechains) to ensure the gambling platform can handle a high volume of micro-transactions efficiently.
• Proficient in integrating third-party blockchain tools or SDKs and off-the-shelf backend solutions.
• Experience working with APIs to interact with gambling or financial platforms, and with backend development using frameworks like Django or Express.js.

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and integrate blockchain solutions with an existing tech stack.
• Experience in working cross-functionally with product managers, compliance officers, and marketing teams to ensure smooth product launches.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
• Regulatory Knowledge and Expertise: Gambling Law and Regulations: A strong understanding of global and local gambling regulations, particularly jurisdictions like Curaçao, Malta, and other regions that provide licenses for online gambling.
• Familiarity with the requirements of these licenses, including player protection, taxation, and financial reporting.
• Expertise in the evolving legal landscape surrounding cryptocurrencies, including AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and KYC (Know Your Customer) rules.
• Understanding how crypto is regulated in various jurisdictions is essential, particularly for gambling transactions.
• Knowledge of GDPR and other data privacy laws, ensuring the platform is compliant with regulations concerning user data protection, especially in regions like the EU.
• Familiarity with responsible gambling standards and player protection mechanisms, ensuring that the platform promotes ethical gambling.
• Ability to assess regulatory risks related to gambling and cryptocurrency.
• Experience conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with gambling laws, cryptocurrency regulations, and responsible gaming practices.
• Strong understanding of AML and KYC protocols to prevent money laundering and fraud within the gambling platform, particularly with cryptocurrency payments.
• Experience in obtaining and maintaining the necessary licenses to operate an online gambling platform in different jurisdictions.
• Knowledge of reporting requirements for gambling operators, including financial reports, player activity, transaction data, and tax reporting.
• Ability to develop internal compliance policies to meet all legal and regulatory obligations, including for cryptocurrency transactions.
• Experience in reviewing and drafting contracts with vendors, payment processors, and affiliates to ensure compliance with gambling and crypto regulations.
• Expertise in creating clear, compliant terms and conditions for users, including bonus policies, withdrawal limits, and dispute resolution procedures.
• Ability to maintain thorough records of compliance efforts, licenses, and correspondence with regulatory bodies.
• 5+ years of experience in a compliance role within the gambling, cryptocurrency, fintech, or finance industry.
• Experience with cryptocurrency exchanges, betting platforms, or financial services is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of successfully obtaining and maintaining gambling licenses across multiple jurisdictions.
• Law Degree or equivalent qualification in compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related field.
• Certifications in compliance (e.g., Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Gambling Compliance Officer) are advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail is critical for ensuring compliance with the various regulatory frameworks across gambling and cryptocurrency.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex regulatory requirements to internal teams (tech, marketing, etc.) and external partners (regulators, auditors).
• Capable of developing solutions to complex regulatory challenges that arise with the integration of gambling and cryptocurrency.
Preferred:
