Job description

Solid Waste Truck DriverHarris County, Georgia, with a population of 36,000 and located in west central Georgia along the Alabama border 60 minutes southwest of Atlanta and 30 minutes north of Columbus, is accepting applications for a full-time Solid Waste Truck Driver to work Monday thru Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm. This position operates a truck along an assigned route to collect solid waste.HSD or GED and more than one year of related experience, or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training. Moderate experience in operation/maintenance of commercial class vehicles and equipment in a sanitation environment preferred; perform equipment inspections and minor repairs; perform dump site and landfill maintenance. Job functions include driving sanitation truck over prescribed routes to collect refuse and trash and transport same to transfer station. Must possess Georgia Correctional Officer I certification at minimum security or ability to obtain same within 6 months of hire (to supervise and work with inmates). Must possess and maintain valid Class B CDL.Must possess Georgia Correctional Officer I certification at minimum security or ability to obtain same within 6 months of hire (to supervise and work with inmates).
