What is solid waste management?

Solid waste management refers to the collection, treatment, and disposal of solid materials that are discarded by the public. Its main goal is to reduce the adverse effects of waste on human health, the environment, and aesthetics. Efficient solid waste management is critical for maintaining clean and sustainable communities.
