Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technician involves working with electrical systems and instruments atΒ UDA .Β Their main responsibilities include installing,Β maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment, such as motors, circuits, and control systems. Will also beΒ workingΒ instrumentation devices, which are instruments used to measure and control various processes. These instruments could include pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, and more. E&I Technicians play a crucial role in ensuring that electrical systems and instrumentation are functioning correctly and safely.Β 

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Β 

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Β 

  • Ability to discuss and apply NFPA 70E to any electrical work scope both in theory and in everyday practice on the job.Β Β 

  • Adhere to all UDA GMP, quality, and safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.Β Β 

  • Controls including Electrical One-line diagrams, Elementary diagrams, wiring schematics, control schematics, P&ID’s, Cause and Effect diagrams, Instrument Loop diagrams, Interconnect diagrams, etc.Β Β 

  • Develop written job plans for electrical and instrumentation projects.Β Β 

  • Develop written procedures for instrumentation and electrical equipment maintenance and inspection.Β Β 

  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, toΒ locateΒ the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.Β Β 

  • Identify,Β interpretΒ and effectively use drawings and documentation related to electrical andΒ processΒ Β 

  • Install andΒ maintainΒ electrical control systems andΒ solid stateΒ equipment.Β Β 

  • Installation, calibration, inspection, and troubleshooting of instruments and electrical equipment,Β in accordance withΒ NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, ISA and Company Standards.Β Β 

  • KeepΒ accurateΒ and legible records.Β Β 

  • MaintainΒ high standardsΒ of workmanship and professionalism while working as a member of a team or when working alone.Β Β 

  • Maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of field instrumentation devices for processΒ equipmentΒ Β 

  • Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations.Β Β

  • Plan and direct procurement of repair parts and material for electrical and instrument systems for project and maintenance purposes.Β Β 

  • Set up andΒ operateΒ test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.Β Β 

  • Support Plant Operations to minimize production impacts and enhance reliability.Β Β 

  • Support quality and food safety initiatives within the operation in the form of intrusive maintenance, HACCP systems, and inspections.Β Β 

  • Troubleshoot, repair motor control circuits and equipment including VFD’s, motors and motor control circuits.Β Β 

  • Understand basic electrical and be able to troubleshoot problems within PLC panels.Β Β 

  • Work safely on AC distribution systems from 5 volts to 480 volts.Β Β
