Job description

Overview
Amyx is seeking to hire a Senior Unix Systems Administrator to support DISA's Hybrid Cloud computing environment on-site at one of their six (6) locations in the U.S. (Fort Meade, MD; Crystal City, VA; Mechanicsburg, PA; Montgomery, AL; Oklahoma City, OK; Ogden, UT). The position will primarily support Unix-based operating systems running on multiple versions (e.g., RHEL, Solaris, HP-UX or AIX), within physical, virtual or cloud-based operating environments.
Responsibilities
  • Will configure, maintain, manage, and troubleshoot Unix-based OS operating environments and associated components such as the Unix file system and Domain Name System (DNS).
  • Configure and sustain operating environments aligning with DISA specifications as related to specific network and storage components and tool suites.
  • Install, configure, administer, and support secure remote access utilities and applications including Secure Shell, Secure Web Access, Virtualization (HyperVisor, VMWare, etc.), Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, and Remote X server access.
  • Proactively monitor operating environments using Enterprise Systems Management toolsets to identify and correct server performance issues.
  • Manage clustering at the OS level using clustering software (e.g., Solaris Cluster, Linux clustering, etc.).
  • Utilize Unix scripting (Ansible, Bash, Bourne, Korn, Perl, etc.) to optimize and automate system administration tasks.
  • Perform backup and recovery functions for Unix server environments.
  • Implement and sustain LDAP protocol solutions, to include policy management and compliance with hardening guidance in DISA STIGs.
  • Leverage DISA security tools (ACAS, Splunk, HBSS, Trellix, Enterprise Security Posture System (ESPS), etc.) to monitor and mitigate vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security policies.
  • Manage all assigned tickets (incident, problem, change, service requests, etc.) in accordance with DISA policies and SLAs.
  • Attend meetings, participate in conference calls, and respond to email/ticket requests to ensure support is provided.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years of relevant Unix Server System Administration experience
  • Must have an IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, SSCP, CYSA+, GICSP, GSEC or CCNA Security) and 50 credits of continuing education every 3 years
  • Must have a Unix-based Operating System certification (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE, RHCA, CompTIA Linux+, GIAC Certified Unix Security Administrator, Oracle Solaris System Administrator Certified Professional, etc.)
  • Must have a fully adjudicated (non-interim) DoD Secret Clearance in order to be able to access and provide SIPRNET support at a DISA location

Desired:
  • Along with the required Unix Server administration experience, the desire is for this position to have experience with Windows Server Operating Sytems
  • Familiarity with Windows scripting (Ansible, PowerShell, Javascript, etc.)
  • Prefer candidate to have worked in a DoD environment previously, particularly DISA if possible
