JOB SUMMARY
This position supports the Quality Manager in overseeing all project quality activities. It may also serve as the lead role for the assigned quality discipline, with responsibility for construction quality practices and compliance with the project schedule. Under direct supervision, the position reports functionally to the Quality Manager and administratively to the on-site Construction Manager.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of all project plans, specifications, and drawings.
• Develop and maintain the overall Project Quality Plan, including deliveries and due dates, in alignment with contract requirements.
• Perform quality assurance inspections on Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical scopes and systems on utility-scale PV projects, both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Serve as the primary interface between the project site team and the on-site Quality team.
• Participate in Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) meetings to ensure compliance with project quality standards.
• Prepare and document quality inspection reports and upload them to the Construction Management Software (CMS), including Buildertrend.
• Proactively review the site-specific quality tracker before commencing quality activities to ensure all pre-energization requirements are addressed.
• Lead site walks and manage the Job Book Table of Contents (TOC), ensuring project-specific requirements are met and communicating client-requested changes to the Quality Control Superintendent or Quality Manager.
• Coordinate craft labor and equipment support for quality and commissioning activities.
• Perform Cause Mapping and root-cause analysis for nonconformances.
• Participate in safety programs and discussions before testing and commissioning activities.
• Support reviews of project design documents and drawings.
• Review and track Non-conformance reports (NCR) and submittals, ensuring all required documentation is closed before equipment energization.
• Review subcontract agreements and Quality Plans to fully understand subcontractor scope and responsibilities.
• Conduct audits of project quality documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in training project personnel on field verification and quality processes.
• Support commissioning activities and ensure all documentation is completed in accordance with contract requirements.
• Resolve issues and support problem-solving through direct, in-person communication with project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project leadership to develop lessons learned at project completion.
• Assist in preparing quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data.
• Maintain technical knowledge by staying current on applicable processes, practices, and industry best practices.

Requirements:TYPICAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
• Accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related field, plus four (4) years of relevant experience; or a combination of education and directly related experience totaling six (6) years if non-degreed.
• Five (5) years of quality and commissioning experience in utility-scale solar projects.
• Strong understanding of OSHA safe workplace practices and procedures.
• Ability to travel and work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.
• NABCEP certification or equivalent education.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Good knowledge of racking and tracker commissioning, operation, troubleshooting, and manufacturer training/certification.
• Good knowledge of inverter commissioning, operation, communications, troubleshooting, and manufacturer training/certification.
• Good knowledge of SCADA/DAS systems, communication systems, operations, programming, and manufacturer training/certification.
• Strong knowledge of MV transformers and other renewable energy Balance of System (BOS) equipment.
• Proficiency in interpreting construction, structural, electrical, single-line, and three-line drawings, markups, red lines, and RFIs.
• Strong knowledge of utility and interconnection equipment (substation and POI).
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, and walk for 8-10 hours per day.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
