These systems securely hold the solar panels in place, ensuring they are optimally angled to capture sunlight and withstand environmental elements like wind and snow. Solar racking is essential for both residential and commercial solar installations, as it affects the efficiency, durability, and safety of the solar power system. The racking may be made of materials such as aluminum or steel and comes in various designs to suit different mounting needs.

Job Title: Commercial Solar Installer / Solar Laborer

Job Description

This role focuses on commercial rooftop solar work, including the removal and reinstallation of existing solar systems on multi-story buildings. You will work as part of a field crew to safely handle solar panels, racking systems, and related equipment while following all fall protection and safety protocols. The position is ideal for experienced solar professionals who are comfortable working at heights and have hands-on experience with SolarEdge systems.

Responsibilities

  • Remove existing commercial rooftop solar systems, including solar panels and racking components, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Reinstall solar systems after removal, ensuring all panels, racking, and related equipment are securely and correctly mounted.
  • Work comfortably and safely on a two-story rooftop, consistently using appropriate fall protection equipment and procedures.
  • Operate hand and power tools to complete installation, removal, and reinstallation tasks according to project specifications.
  • Follow established safety standards and guidelines, including fall protection training requirements and site-specific safety rules.
  • Collaborate with other solar installers and solar laborers to complete projects on schedule and to quality standards.
  • Assist with general rooftop labor tasks, such as material handling, staging, and site cleanup related to solar installation work.
  • Inspect work areas and equipment for potential hazards and promptly report any safety concerns.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, organized, and working condition.
  • Follow instructions from site leads or supervisors and adapt to changing project needs on the rooftop worksite.

  • Previous work on commercial rooftop solar projects, including system removal and reinstallation.
  • Strong awareness of jobsite safety practices and willingness to follow all safety protocols.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a field crew and communicate clearly with team members.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move solar panels, racking, and tools on a rooftop environment.
  • Attention to detail to ensure solar systems are reinstalled correctly and securely.

Why Work Here?

You will join a team that values safety, teamwork, and professional craftsmanship on every project. The work offers the opportunity to deepen your experience in commercial solar installations, including hands-on exposure to SolarEdge systems and complex rooftop projects. You can build your skills in a supportive environment that emphasizes clear communication, reliable processes, and continuous improvement in the field.
