Job description

Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Inspector
Location: Santa Clara, California

PHD Machining is a precision manufacturing company dedicated to delivering high-quality machined components to industries such as aerospace, defense, and advanced technology. We pride ourselves on tight tolerances, fast turnaround times, and a strong commitment to quality.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Inspector to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring that all parts and assemblies meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of machined parts
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T
  • Use precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, CMM, etc.)
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate records
  • Identify non-conforming parts and support root cause analysis
  • Work closely with machinists and production teams to maintain quality standards
  • Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and customer requirements
Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection (machining environment preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
  • Proficiency with standard inspection tools and equipment
  • Experience with CMM (preferred but not required)
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with aerospace or tight-tolerance parts
  • Familiarity with ISO or AS9100 standards
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
