T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. By the time you finish reading this paragraph, we will have produced two solar panels that will power American homes and fuel domestic AI. We're focused on building advanced American manufacturing and we're passionate about engineering a better future filled with abundant energy.
The Role
T1 Energy is looking to hire a Quality Supervisor who is responsible for overseeing daily quality assurance and control activities within a solar panel manufacturing facility. This role ensures that products meet internal specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Supervisor leads a team of inspectors and technicians, supports production operations, and enforces compliance with safety and quality systems.
What You'll Do
Quality Oversight & Compliance
โ€ข Supervise and coordinate daily quality inspection activities across production lines (e.g., cell processing, module assembly, lamination, and testing).
โ€ข Ensure compliance with applicable standards (ISO 9001, IEC standards for solar modules, and internal quality procedures).
โ€ข Monitor adherence to quality control plans, inspection protocols, and testing requirements.
โ€ข Review and approve inspection reports, nonconformance reports (NCRs), and corrective actions.
Team Leadership
โ€ข Lead, train, and mentor quality inspectors and technicians.
โ€ข Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide coaching to improve team effectiveness.
โ€ข Conduct regular team meetings and ensure clear communication of quality expectations.
Process Improvement
โ€ข Analyze quality data and production trends to identify defects, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
โ€ข Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) initiatives.
โ€ข Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve yield, reduce scrap, and enhance product reliability.
Product Quality & Testing
โ€ข Ensure proper execution of electrical, mechanical, and visual inspections of solar panels (e.g., EL testing, IV curve testing, insulation testing).
โ€ข Verify calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment.
โ€ข Oversee incoming material inspections and supplier quality coordination.
Documentation & Reporting
โ€ข Maintain accurate quality records, reports, and documentation.
โ€ข Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality performance reports.
โ€ข Support internal and external audits and ensure readiness for customers or regulatory inspections.
Who You Are
โ€ข Strong knowledge of quality systems (ISO 9001) and statistical process control (SPC).
โ€ข Experience with root cause analysis tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, FMEA).
โ€ข Familiarity with solar panel manufacturing processes and testing methods is highly desirable.
โ€ข Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Minitab, or similar).
โ€ข Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
โ€ข Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and manage multiple priorities.
โ€ข Experience in renewable energy or solar manufacturing is a strong advantage.
โ€ข Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) is preferred.
Qualifications
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
โ€ข 3-5+ years of experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment (solar, electronics, or semiconductor preferred).
โ€ข Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required.
