The Production Operator supports the safe and efficient manufacturing of solar panels by operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting production equipment. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following established processes and quality standards. Production Technicians ensure production lines run smoothly, identify issues quickly, and contribute to a safe and high-performing workplace.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and adjust automated and semi-automated production equipment to maintain consistent product quality and output.

  • Perform visual inspections of materials and finished products, identifying defects and escalating issues when needed.

  • Follow standard operating procedures and work instructions to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including performing routine equipment cleaning and basic maintenance tasks.

  • Support continuous improvement by recommending process enhancements and identifying quality risks.

  • Adhere to all safety requirements, including proper use of PPE and safe equipment operation.

  • Assist with material handling, loading and unloading, and line changeovers as required.

  • Support training efforts by sharing knowledge, demonstrating processes, and assisting new associates.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, equipment operation, or a similar environment preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Technical aptitude and willingness to learn new systems, tools, and processes.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Basic computer skills for documentation and equipment interfaces.

  • Reliability, integrity, and commitment to quality and safety.

Work Environment and Schedule

  • Fully onsite.

  • Standard schedule: fixed 12-hour shifts (day or night depending on assigned team).

  • Work performed around production equipment and in confined spaces.

  • PPE required including safety glasses, gloves, ear protection, and other items based on assigned area.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires ongoing physical activity throughout a 12-hour shift, including:

  • Standing for up to 12 hours

  • Bending and lifting consistently for 12 hours, up to 50 lbs

  • Walking and traversing production areas for 12 hours

  • Close attention to detail for up to 12 hours

  • Viewing flashing stack lights and other visual production cues

  • Pushing and pulling for up to 12 hours, up to 50 lbs

  • Reaching forward and downward regularly
