Job Title: Roofing Service Technician

Start Date: Immediately

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $25.00-$35.00 hourly


Position Overview:  This position is responsible for leading and efficiently performing various commercial low slope roofing installations while utilizing safe work practices and driving overall crew performance, job quality, and job site safety. The Lead Service Technician provides on-site leadership, direction, and accountability to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to company standards.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Coordinate and communicate schedule adjustments to customers and management
  • Guide, mentor, and manage service technicians on assignments and expectations
  • Clean, maintain, and stock assigned work truck
  • Ensure necessary materials are kept stocked in the warehouse
  • Stock and maintain van with necessary materials
  • Organize and schedule with multiple clients and job scopes
  • Communicate updates and status directly with sales and management staff
  • Clock hours for service jobs and ensure crew accurately logs times and jobs in buildertrend
  • Complete work orders and submit them upon completion to submit for payment


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong commercial low slope roofing expertise; diagnose issues and recommend solutions
  • Build relationships; support service work and generate sales
  • Lead crews; coach team and ensure quality workmanship
  • Manage time, priorities, and deadlines across service calls
  • Work independently; provide direction and accountability to others
  • Maintain safety/compliance (OSHA 10, valid license, Federal clearance eligible)
  • Detail-oriented; communicate professionally with customers and team
  • Model JR&Co values; lead by example and represent company positively


Minimum Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in roofing (preferred)
  • Experience working with metal roofing, coping, and the above, listed materials


Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Pass initial drug test and participate in random drug test program
  • Willing to travel
  • Ability to perform elevated work (work on rooftops, heights)
  • Frequently lift and carry 50lbs or greater
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, walking 
  • Outdoor environment in all types of weather (8+ hours per day)
  • Overtime and weekend work
