Kuby Renewable Energy Ltd is an Edmonton-based solar PV contracting company, with offices in Calgary, Lethbridge AB, and Kamloops BC. Kuby Energy services Western and Northern Canada, providing full-service residential and commercial solar power and energy storage solutions. In this rapidly growing industry, Kuby is looking for someone with a strong desire to grow with us as a company and facilitate clean energy solutions across Canada.

Position Summary

The Journeyman Electrician plays a vital role in supporting the electrical team by assisting in the installation, maintenance, and repair of solar systems. Guiding less experienced electricians, the journeyman will teach and apply their gained experience to contribute to the successful completion of projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist apprentices with various electrical tasks.
  • Installing solar panels (mounting & connecting solar panels)
  • Running wiring from solar panels to inverters to electrical panels.
  • Conducting tests to ensure solar panels are functioning correctly.
  • Read and interpret plans.
  • Maintain company tools and equipment.
  • Completing Field-level hazard assessments.
  • Loading tools and equipment to the site
  • Maintaining proper housekeeping, particularly in a customer's home.
  • Customer service
  • Ability to work out of town on an as-needed basis.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces
  • Interpret engineered drawings
  • Install solar modules on roofs/structures
  • Interconnect electrical wires and devices
  • Improve procedures and practices through critical thinking and problem-solving
